By making an appointment with us the pet owner (client) agrees to the terms and conditions as set out herein.
On subsequent visits please inform me of any changes in the pet’s health or temperament or your personal details so I can continue to provide a service tailored to your pet’s needs.
YOUR PET'S HEALTH AND WELFARE
Whilst your pet is in my care, its safety & welfare are my number one priority. Your dog will only ever be groomed according to its tolerance of the process. If your pet is anxious due to any of the procedures employed in dog grooming, a workaround or alternative method will be used. I have the right to end the groom at any time based on if your dog is too stressed or aggressive to safely continue.

Occasionally during grooming a pre-existing medical condition or injury may be discovered which you may not have been aware of previously. I will notify you of this and write it down for you so that you can seek veterinary advice. Although extremely unlikely, accidents can happen during grooming. In the event of an incident or serious medical issue arising during your pet’s groom you authorise me to seek emergency veterinary treatment and contact you immediately. Alternatively for a minor injury that can be treated with basic first aid, you authorise me to treat your pet and notify you of any happenings.
TIME KEEPING, NO SHOWS AND CANCELLATIONS
I ask that you please be punctual for your time slot as I work by appointment only and to an allotted time per pet. I will either inform you of a pick-up time when you drop off your pet, or if you prefer I can phone or text you when your dog is ready. You must pick-up the pet no later than 30 minutes after this pick-up time as I do not have the facilities to house your pet whilst grooming another. Most grooms take between 1 – 3 hours or more depending on the size and temperament of the dog, and its coat condition.

I have the right to refuse the groom if a client is more than 20 minutes late for their appointment. Alternatively, I can offer to provide another service that takes less time. I also offer an appointment reminder by text, email or phone.

If a client does not let me know within 24 hours prior to the appointment time that they will not be attending, I have the right to charge 50% of the full cost of the groom. This must be paid by the client before any other appointments can be made.
MATTED COATS
In accordance with the animal welfare act 2006, de-matting by hand may only be performed on your dog's coat for 15 minutes. In the event that your pet’s coat needs to be clipped down to release it from matting in relation to and in line with the animal welfare act 2006, Love, Suds & Pups will not be liable for any post-grooming effects of this procedure, which is not without risk.

I will make every effort to assess the pet when it comes in to advise if the coat is too matted and the pet would need to be short shaved. If, however, it becomes clear during the groom that the de-matting process would be hurting your pet I will contact you to ask for permission to do a short shave. If this is not granted then I would be unable to continue with the groom and the pet must be collected.

In the event of matted hair needing to be clipped the client should be aware that skin irritation to the pet(s) may occur from this process. It may further uncover cuts and sores.
The client agrees that they do not hold the groomer liable for any post-grooming effects such as redness caused by clipping procedures or any problems uncovered, and agree to pay for a matting charge if severe.
DANGEROUS/AGGRESSIVE ANIMALS AND BEHAVIOURAL ISSUES
You must inform me if your pet bites, is aggressive or has any behavioural issues including nervousness. If the client fails to inform me of potential danger or behavioural issues, I may have to cease the groom and contact you to pick your dog up regardless of the progress of the groom.
SECURITY AND DATA PROTECTION
I will keep safe and confidential all personal information of the client in accordance with General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
